Ideal choice for a short staycation in Zermatt with best value for money ratio. The breakfast buffet was surprisingly extensive with fresh juice options and a great coffee machine. Make sure to use the correct button at the side gate for easy entry.

It has both good and informative staff. Make sure to get classic double room with Matterhorn view, dirt under the bed, the heated floors.

I like the attitude of the owner n the service staff... It was more like visiting clise relatives. I got outstanding response from the staff... Whenever i visit lucerne i will stay here... Love everyone in the hotel..

I almost thought this hotel would be great, but the rude evening desk person and the lack of basic emergency procedures were just unacceptable. The bathroom was stocked, big deal! I expected at least a complimentary gesture for the inconvenience. Spa facilities could've used someone to attend to guests. One would think that was a basic expectation.

Good facilities, clean rooms, helpful staff and free wifi.

The sauna and jacuzzi are only open for 4 hours per day. And the "lounge" is a narrow, lower-ground floor room with two rows of aging chairs facing each other - not very inviting.

Comfortable room, convenient location, with a great breakfast spread that offers delicious local options to start your day. Easy access to transportation with the train station just a short walk away.

After a fantastic 3-night stay, I couldn't recommend this spot enough for anyone looking to explore Zermatt. The amazing views of the Matterhorn from our Classic Double Room were stunning, especially during sunrise. The breakfast spread was extensive, featuring aged local meats and a variety of teas. I particularly loved unwinding in the sauna after a day of hiking around the stunning trails, which was a perfect way to relax. It's just a short walk to several attractions, including the Matterhorn Museum and charming churches in the area.

Staff was very good. nicely maintained. not far from railway station/ city center.

The location of Alpenstern was great for seeing the city of Zermatt and for seeing the mountains and enjoying the fresh air and sunshine.

We were with a single friend who had booked a single room and she ended up with a nice large room made for a double and we had a room so small we could barely move and the cost difference was not that much different.

The views from our classic double room were amazing, and the wellness area was perfect after a day of hiking. Breakfast was delicious.
